West Michigan Auction Service has been serving the area since 1946.
Who We Are
Our auction service started when Peter John Herremans, John’s father, attended Reppert Auction School in 1945. It was first known as Herremans Auction Service. Peter held numerous sales, of all kinds, in the local area from Muskegon to Manistee.
John graduated from Reppert Auction School in 1954, joining his father in the auction business. This year marks John’s 60th year in the business. John then spent 4 years in the USMC before returning to the auction business with his father. Approximately 40 yeas later, Peter retired. John then worked for some time with Cabot Auction Service in Manistee. Joe Reed, from Ohio, then joined John in the business and West Michigan Auctions was born. After several years, Joe passed away. In 2005, Michelle Langrick joined the business. In 2010, John’s grandson, Christian, joined the business. Chris also graduated from Reppert Auction School making a total of 4 auctioneers that graduated from this fine school.
